I bought four of these and put them together myself. the wood is very heavy, as if it were blank or made out of a very dry pine or something. but because it is thin and not heavy I could put together myself although the directions recommend two people assemble. the package comes with wall fixing, that I didn't have and extra legroom for the lower shelf. very easy to assemble and can be a little shaky. but, once a place stay put. things you'll need: screwdriver,
